It's starting to get cold here in Rochester, N.Y., just in time for a winter wonderland themed birthday party. I am happy to say that our first client is little Miss Avery, who will be celebrating her first birthday in just a few short weeks.
When Avery’s mom, Erika, came to us to design her daughter’s first birthday invitations she had a basic idea; “Winter ONEderland”. We thought it would be pretty cool to take this winter concept, mature it a little bit and add lots of texture. For the color palette we chose natural kraft, white (of course!), maroon and gold. We wanted the invitation to be cutsie, since it is a first birthday, so Erika provided us with some language that she had seen on Pinterest and really liked.
Designing the layout was fun, but the best part was playing with hundreds of little white paper circles (snow…) and spray adhesive. It got a little messy, but it was well worth it! We place this fun texturized invitation into a white felt envelope, gave it gold hand lettering and sealed it with a Buck (you know, a male deer) wax seal. Since Avery’s last name is “Buck”, it was the perfect way to finish the invite.
We love making each invitation suite personal and customized to our clients, and these birthday invitations were no exception.
